She stands there, unpretentious, radiating calm composure

A photogenic masterpiece with unabashed exposure

She’s the cherished Highland cow, so adorable and docile

Popular with everyone, hence her legendary profile

Her iconic stature has been sculptured to perfection

Outshining other bovines without notable exception

She’s utterly content to spend her days on one long munch

While humans take three minutes as they gulp a speedy lunch

Her double-layered coat, designed to shield her from cold seasons

Means Hilary spends her life outside, for several healthy reasons

People used to bring her indoors, so to profit from her heat

I’m not sure that for Hilary, it was the utmost treat

Her distinctive shaggy hair conceals her facial disposition

As she contemplates her setting, through her special intuition.

Her eyes are well concealed so we can’t know what she may “see”

Without visual destractions her world is secretive and free

Her mind is deep in thought, a mini realm of contemplation

This gentle, ginger giant, the darling of the nation !
