Adamant<\/strong>‘s an average ant<\/strong> who’s most ant<\/strong>agonised
\nBy rumours that his conduct is extremely ill-advised
\nHe’s openly accused of roaming round in underpant<\/strong>s
\nAnd hanging out there just for fun with hoards of other ant<\/strong>s
\nAnt<\/strong>icipating conflict, he would venture to enquire
\nWhy a colony of ant<\/strong>s would choose such dubious attire
\nOnly humans could imagine such a spiteful little picture
\nOf ant<\/strong>s sneaking around in pant<\/strong>s in such a compact stricture
\nWhat would our Adam truly get from grovelling round the groin
\nOr romping round the rear end of a human being’s loin?
\nThe very thought of choosing someone’s pant<\/strong>s to have a ball
\nSums up man’s false opinion of the ant<\/strong>s’ most urgent call
\nOur Adam is most anxious to redeem his virtuous name
\nRestore it to superior spheres and not indignant<\/strong> shame
\nRather than odd missions to man’s ant<\/strong>isocial crevice
\nHe’s of a brazen<\/strong> nature and would rather climb Ben Nevis
\nIn fact he’s most industrious \u2013 an example to mankind
\nDespite his scant<\/strong> physique he keeps his nose down to the grind
\nHis most important<\/strong> task is to locate a source of food
\nThen lay a scent back to the nest which really is quite shrewd
\nA constant<\/strong> stream of workers are recruited to be sure
\nThe food is brought back to the nest to keep it safe in store
\nAnt<\/strong>s are compliant<\/strong> with their diet – insects or plant<\/strong>s are good
\nAnd thus their harvest can accrue a blatant<\/strong> magnitude
\nOur Adam also manages a workforce in the nest
\nTo scrupulously clean the place and keep it at its best
\nThus all inhabitant<\/strong>s are compensated for their labours
\nWith an elegant<\/strong> abode and very conscientious neighbours
\nSo never just presume that humble ant<\/strong>s are ignorant<\/strong>
\nOr that their contribution is too insignificant
\nT<\/strong>heir social skills and discipline would far outclass a person
\nWhose strength of will in recent years is known to sadly worsen
\nIn Adam’s world each creature is allotted his own function
\nA covenant<\/strong> which it performs without the least compunction
\nHe doesn’t need to rant <\/strong>or rave to get the tasks completed
\nThe poignant <\/strong>thing is, ant<\/strong>s work hard without feeling depleted
\nSome distant<\/strong> cousins are renowned for building up an army
\nWhere millions can eat through a horse as if it were salami
\nWhere folks leave insect-ridden homes to one such ant<\/strong> brigade
\nTo work as an insecticide and leave no renegade
\nBut not our Adam and his clan, peace-loving, working guys
\nIn their compact community under unpretentious skies
\nOur Adam knows it’s not for long, for he must think ahead
\nHe’d like to find a little bride to take into his bed
\nHe’ll grow some wings so he is clad to fly in nuptial shrouds
\nAnd find his Queen and have his way \u2013 a coitus in the clouds
\nHe’ll locate a pleasant<\/strong> boudoir on the outskirts of cloud nine
\nHe’ll be in seventh-heaven with his Sovereign Clandestine
\nOnce nuptials are accomplished his dear spouse will lose her wings
\nAnd settle down as pregnant<\/strong> Queen to tend to her few things
\nOnce Adam’s proved his manhood \u2013 his life’s ant<\/strong>ics are complete
\nThen comes the famous climax with an end that’s bittersweet
\nFor his instant<\/strong> of fulfilment he will pay the highest price
\nCompletely unrepentant<\/strong> he retires to Paradise
\nHe can’t afford to make mistakes or lead a girl a dance
\nHis choice of bride must be the best – his first and only chance
\nSo now he can lie down and let sweet nature take her course
\nHe’s had his life and done his best and goes back to the source
\nHindu holy writings teach that ant<\/strong>s are deemed divine
\nTheir ant<\/strong>hill represents the earth \u2013 an archetypal shrine
\nConsider life’s philosophies – observe our world today
\nIs man or ant<\/strong> the best equipped to be our earth’s mainstay?<\/p>\n
