{"id":143,"date":"2016-11-01T12:00:36","date_gmt":"2016-11-01T12:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/humble-thoughts.com\/?p=143"},"modified":"2021-12-09T23:34:03","modified_gmt":"2021-12-09T22:34:03","slug":"tail-of-a-snail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/humble-thoughts.com\/?p=143","title":{"rendered":"Tale of a Snail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A cute little snail called Margot<br \/>\nWas served with five other Escargot<br \/>\nDressed with garlic and parsley<br \/>\nIn a sauce served quite sparsely<br \/>\n&#8216;Twas the end of Madame Escargot!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">*<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now Margot had a cousin, whose name was Gail<br \/>\nLarger than Margot but not so pale<br \/>\nShe wandered the countryside in Northern Israel<br \/>\nBut she never moved around on a very large scale<br \/>\nYou won&#8217;t believe this incredible tale!<br \/>\nBut they picked her up on a dusty trail<br \/>\nHer imprisonment felt like a self-betrayal<br \/>\nSo, they cooked her with her colleagues in a large tin pail<br \/>\nBut she climbed up to the top and lived to tell the tale<br \/>\nAnd they never were aware, she was alive though frail<br \/>\nSo they served her up with bread that was astoundingly stale<br \/>\nFollowed by noodles and pan fried quail<br \/>\nAnd a heaven-sent tipple of dark brown ale<br \/>\nA feast that would corroborate the Holy Grail<br \/>\nBut Gail was renowned as a high-speed snail<br \/>\nShe abandoned the plate and left a slimy trail<br \/>\nThis gutsy little snail was no longer for sale<br \/>\nHell for leather over hill and dale<br \/>\nShe felt as though she&#8217;d been in jail<br \/>\nLet out for a spell on a sizeable bail<br \/>\nThat was the feeling that did prevail<br \/>\nAs she moved around like a mobile entrail<br \/>\nVery aware of every detail<br \/>\nAnd what her safety should entail<br \/>\nShe was happy and her soul did sail<br \/>\nTo survive the ordeal deserves a wholehearted hail<br \/>\nShe could amble at leisure and seek her male<br \/>\nEvery bit a woman from head to tail<br \/>\nThis is the story of indebted Gail<br \/>\nAn amazingly brave and indomitable Snail<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">*<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Let&#8217;s hope they invent a snail embargo<br \/>\nSo she doesn&#8217;t end up like her cousin Margot<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-58\" src=\"http:\/\/humble-thoughts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/liner.png\" alt=\"liner\" width=\"704\" height=\"51\" srcset=\"https:\/\/humble-thoughts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/liner.png 704w, https:\/\/humble-thoughts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/liner-600x43.png 600w, https:\/\/humble-thoughts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/liner-300x22.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 704px) 100vw, 704px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Photo: pixelio.de \/ G\u00fcnther Gumbold<\/p>\n<p>Copyright: Rosemary McGuire<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A cute little snail called Margot Was served with five other Escargot Dressed with garlic and parsley In a sauce served quite sparsely &#8216;Twas the end of Madame Escargot!
